The Big Bang Theory won three awards at the 2012 Satellite Awards, dominating the TV comedy categories. The winners were announced by the International Press Academy at the Intercontinental Hotel in Beverly Hills yesterday evening.
The Big Bang Theory won the Best Television Series, Comedy or Music award. The show beat out competition from Community (NBC), Girls (HBO), Happy Endings (ABC), Modern Family (ABC), The Office (NBC), Parks and Recreation (NBC) and Up All Night (NBC).
Johnny Galecki won the award in the Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy Series category. Fellow Big Bang Theory star Jim Parsons was a contender for the award, along with Up All Night's Will Arnett, House of Lies' Don Cheadle, Louie's Louis C.K. and Community's Joel McHale.
Kaley Cuoco took home the Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical Series award. Cuoco was up against Up All Night's Christina Applegate, Enlightened's Laure Dern, Girls' Lena Dunham, Veep's Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Parks and Recreation's Amy Poehler.
