The Big Bang Theory hits new highs in Live+7 ratings


The Big Bang Theory's record-breaking seventh season premiere has reached new highs in the Live +7-day ratings. The L+7 ratings include DVR viewership over the following week.

The seventh season premiere "The Hofstadter Insufficiency" added 5.17 million people with 7-day DVR viewership, a rise of 27%,  to hit to a record audience of  24.16 million people. This was the show's largest lift to date, at that point. In the key adults 18-49 demographic, the episode moved up 2.3 points in the L+7 ratings to a 7.8 rating, up 42%.

The ratings soared higher for the second of the night's episodes, "The Deception Verification" at 8:30. This episode added 5.71 million viewers, setting the record again for the show's largest lift, to reach 26.15 million in the L+7 ratings. The special broadcast rose by 41% 18-49 demo to an 8.6 rating, up by 2.5 points.

In the Live + 7-day ratings, both episodes of The Big Bang Theory surpassed Sunday Night Football in viewers and adults 18-49 to become the week's #1 programs in viewers and adults 18-49.

7.04 ‘The Raiders Minimization’ Ratings


Last night's episode of The Big Bang Theory finished first in its time slot and was the night's most-watched and highest-rated program.

"The Raiders Minimization" was watched by 17.64 million people, down by 0.58m from the previous episode. Compared to the same week last year, The Big Bang Theory is up by 3.41 million viewers.

In the key adults 18-49 demographic, The Big Bang Theory scored a 5.1/17 rating, down a notch from last week's 5.2/17. The show had a 4.5/13 rating in the demo this week last year.

The Big Bang Theory sees its biggest Live+3 lift


The Big Bang Theory posted its largest gains in viewers and adults 25-54 in the Live + 3 day ratings yet. These ratings add viewers who watched the show on DVR within 3 days of its broadcast to the ratings of the show's live broadcast.

The audience for last week's episode rose by 4.39 million people to 22.61m. The show jumped 2.2 ratings points in the 25-54 demo, rising to 9.0 from 6.8. This marks the show's largest 3-day lift in viewers and adults 25-54.

In the key 18-49 demographic, The Big Bang Theory rose 1.9 rating points to 7.1 from 5.2. This matches the show's best jump in this demo.

7.05 ‘The Workplace Proximity’


CBS has issued the press release for the October 17 episode of The Big Bang Theory.

The Workplace Proximity – Sheldon must decide how much “Amy time” is too much after she takes a job at his university. Meanwhile, Howard finds himself sleeping on Raj’s couch after a fight with Bernadette, on THE BIG BANG THEORY, Thursday, Oct. 17 (8:00 – 8:31 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

7.03 ‘The Scavenger Vortex’ Ratings


Yesterday's episode of The Big Bang Theory finished first in its time slot to win the night and rank as the week's top performer in the key adults 18-49 demo.

7.03 "The Scavenger Vortex" was watched by 18.22 million people, down by just 0.77m from last week's 8:00 episode. In the adults 18-49 demographic, The Big Bang Theory scored a 5.2/17 rating, down three tenths from 5.5/17 last week. The Big Bang Theory finished first by all key ratings metrics and was the night's most-watched and highest-rated show.

Compared to the same week last year, The Big Bang Theory added over three million viewers and rose by three tenths of a ratings point in the 18-49 demo.

Bob Newhart returns to TBBT, Bill Nye guest stars


Emmy Award-winning actor Bob Newhart is set to return as Professor Proton in the November 7 episode of The Big Bang Theory. Bill Nye, the Science Guy, will guest star as himself in the episode.

In the episode, after Professor Proton seeks Leonard's help with an experiment, a hurt Sheldon responds by befriending a rival TV science show host, Bill Nye.

Bob Newhart recently won an Emmy Award, the first in his decades long career, for his guest apperance on The Big Bang Theory last season. When the legendary comedic actor agreed to guest star on the show, it was on the understanding he would appear in more than one episode.
